    Summer dreaming

Monday, June 2, 2008, 04:45 PM CET [General]

Not having been on for a while and having just watched a couple of episodes of Dharma & Greg, I just have to share a dream I had last night. Most of the dream is fragmented, but it does answer at least one question I've had regarding the name of the Goddess (and i suppose even the God).

The first thing I remember is an initiation party (I say party, since there was a cake in it). The cake had different candles baked into it. I saw the ceremony, but wasn't allowed to take part. Like a little sneak I still stole a glance of the printed ceremony. The interesting thing is that where the Goddess' name should be all it said was "<< Goddess goes here >>", something. They must have written it down somehow, but after they had, they taped over it with bits of tape very much like the stamps saying "CLASSIFIED" and however I peeked over the shoulders of the women I couldn't see the name, just that tape. I also recogniced a friend of mine being in the same coven as one of my enemies and I wondered why she hadn't acted on my behalf and I got an answer, like "well, we don't always agree with each other, but we are still sisters (of the same coven)". Having eaten around the candles in the cake the initiation ceremony started.

Somehow in this dream (maybe in association with the initiation) I came to the conclusion that that in order to get the secret name of the Goddess one has to meditate on it. Having meditated on it, the Goddess herself eventually discloses her name to you. As you then initiate others you pass that name on.

Having left the ceremony (where I wasn't invited anyway) I rode along on my alpaca on the sidewalk and met someone else on his alpaca. Suddenly my alpaca started behaving strangely and I thought "well, I'll just ride around the other guy". Then I was thrown off and my alpaca ran away. As I turned to see what had caused the trouble I saw two lions approaching behind me from afar. I felt a little scared and upset, but since they were so far away, I just thought they wouldn't attack from that distance if I didn't threaten them.

I turned left and started walking down the road, when once again I met two lions. The fear started eating away at me, but I had to continue on that road. I practiced defence magic and realized that in order for it to really work, you would really have to believe in it. If you could do that and put all your force and intention into it it would work "like a spell". As the lions came closer and passed me I realized they were just workers at the local fair holding plaques looking and being carved out to look like lions. Harmless as the grass on the ground.

Determining to get out of there there were two opportunities. One was a road , which lead straight out of town. The other also led out of town, but first it passed a couple of motels/hotels that me and my sister stayed at a while ago, maybe in another dream? I chose that way even though I knew the place was owned and run by what can only be called a couple of bitches. If you've ever seen the sitcom "New Adventures of Old Christine" you know exactly what I'm talking about. They were like those two sinister women on the school board, that always find a way to talk down to her. Times ten. Anyway I took that way , heard them bitch and then found my way out again. And that's pretty much where I woke up.

The funny thing is that the more I read the text above (looking for errors) I become more and more convinced this dream has something to teach. Regarding the initiation I'm thinking being initiated the "usual" way is not what matters in the end, but the contact between you and the God/dess. That's the most initiation anyone can get. The alpaca might be a representation of my fears, running wild at the least sign of danger. I do still have the sence though, to remain in control and look at the danger itself and being able to reason calmly. At least somewhat. Also (upon meeting the lions - maybe the same ones? - again) staying cool enough to look fear in the eye, long enough to realize it's (in this case) harmlessness. Also, determination on my part to stay on a sometimes scary road until the end, doing what I feel I have to. The last part perhaps means I' m not fond of bullshit or drivel, but I'm not afraid to step into it's circle. And it doesn't keep me down.

This is just a preliminary interpretation and might change, but here it is. Maybe I'm just second guessing myself too much. Maybe I'm just raving.

Have a beautiful week all of you.

    Rights and Fights

Saturday, October 20, 2007, 03:18 PM CET [General]

I read about children and their religious choices on About.com today and I must say I think parents should take a part and maybe even restrict their childrens choice of religion. Now, this actual child was a teen and in Sweden we draw a lina at twelve, That's the magical age, when parents actually have to start respecting their childrens wishes. So, why the restriction? Well, in the case the child gets into a religion where he/she might harm himself, it's the parents duty to intervene. Say for example that your child determines to become a Satanist, worshipping the evil principle, you might want to read up on it and perhaps even put a stop to it.

I'm not sying, though, that the parent should just forbid, but rather get a picture of what's happening and then make sure his child knows what it's getting into as well, putting the emphasis on instruction and information. For example the child might need to get a broader picture of reality, reassurance, others perspectives, the list goes on. So, yes, the child's religion might actually becoḿe the responsibility of the parent. This also puts some wheight on the parent's shoulder, trying to be free from prejudice. Or, well, as free as possible.

This doesn't mean that I think children shouldn't be able to pick their own religion, they should. Just that as with everything else child-oriented, it might need adult supervision. Just remember not to come off as too rigid. This might not be in best interest. Especially if one have to drag it to court, one might work against one's own interests. Some part of me wouldn't be surprised if the dear father lost his case.

Then again, it might prove to be an important case for american teens. It could mean more spiritual freedom for underaged in the States. It's going to be an interesting case to follow.

On the same site there is a story on some Anne Coulter and SLAP suits. When it comes to Anne coulter, I just can't seem to see the anti-semitism in what she says. The worst I can see she says is that she thinks it would be better if we were all Christian and Christians being perfected Jews. Stupid and unintelligent, full of stardust in her eyes, yes, specifically anti-jewish, not so much.

Also on the SLAP-suit that some bloggers have gotten regarding their criticism of the game Left Behind: Eternal Forces, maybe we should all be criticising them on our sites, get a bunch of suits from the company, donate a few dollars each and get the best lawyers around and SLAP their faces.

    Remarks and questions to OZ

Friday, August 3, 2007, 01:06 PM CET [General]

I just have to wite a little thing about Taliesin's latest blog.

One thing that strikes me in Oberon Zell-Ravenheart's little article (of 6 pages) is that he refers to his/our kind as the other people. Sure there were other people around when the Bible was written down and they worshipped differently. In no places though are there a referens to 'the Other People'. Yes, it is an interesting reading playing with the masculine/ feminin forms of the Gods title. It is enough though to just notice that God (Elohim) says to other beings in his presence, 'We shall make people in our image, to be like us...' If he is the sole creator, then who was he talking to? Especially as he says 'We shall make...'This clearly indicates he was not the only being who had power to create. Also, there's another interesting thing in the text. God does only occasionally appear as creatrix in Gen 1. From time to time he tells f ex the earth to bring forth different plants and herbs, different animals of all kinds, thus the earth is the real creator doing Gods bidding. This might actually be one of the first theories of evolution. Also, when God makes Adam he takes soil and fashions him and blows life into him

Also, when looking at the two creation myths it is widely accepted that they are both an alternative and a complement to each other. If I'm not completely misinformed, I think, further on in the Bible, there's yet an extra one.

Another interesting thing is where OZ says ”And so the sign of the Fall becomes modesty.....” I actually think he's got it the wrong way here. Nothing happened until the man ate of the fruit. Then they both felt ashamed. Or from the words of one of the persons in the Bible NT ”By one man the sin entered into this world and through one man it's leaving it (about how Jesus saves from sin). There is also a gospel according to Mary (of Magdalene), where she asks Jesus ”What about the sin does it exist?” Jesus says something in the order of ”No, it doesn't. What does though is all the things you do each other when f ex you commit adultery”. Or in a bit modernized words”No, but all the crap you do to each other.” My point is this: Eve saw the tree was good and she ate, she even gave some to her man and he ate, but it wasn't until Adam had eaten that they were ashamed. This has other implications that I won't go into here, but as it seems it seems Adam created sin and shame.
Then there is the place where OZ says ”left the presence of Yaweh' implies that Yaweh was only a local God. This doesn't have top imply that though. It could just mean that he was not under the protection (or grace) of his God anymore, or that he mentally parted from his God, withdrew if you like. A much more interesting story is that of the wives of Cain and Seth.

Where did they come from? If you are a trad Christian you will probably say they married their sisters, admitting incest among the first people. Maybe the reason the lifespan decreased from close to a millenia down to a mere sixty years or a tops of 120. For the rest of us it means there must have been people outside already when Adam and Eve got out of Eden. A standing contradiction. Indeed. Also interesting is the fact that Enosh seems to be the first occultist, being the first to invoke God's name Yahweh, invoking having quite a magical ring to it.

One thing that catches my eye is when OZ places the garden of eden in turkey. The Bible clearly states that a river comes up in Eden and waters it. It then breaks up in four minor rivers, which are Pishon, Gishon, Tigris and Eufrates ie in today's Iraq by or close to the Persian Gulf. Which is where that happens, also taken into account the withdrawing of the seashore from where it used to be, abit farther north of where it is today.

As a last question, an open one: OZ states that the Goddes says ”as a sign that you are truly free you shall be naked in your rites”. This is practically ripped from Aradia the Gospel Of the Witches. In Aradia we can also read ”Diana greatly loved her brother Lucifer, the god of the Sun and the Moon, the god of Light(Splendor), who was so proud of his beauty , and who for his pride was driven from Paradise”. This clearly connects Lucifer with the biblical Satan if you only replace Paradise with Heaven. Also we have Cain mentioned in Aradia, another biblical reference. And then the name Herodias, according to Leland equated with a 'replica of Lilith' not the lady from NT. Now is that something we want to do? Involve harmful principles? And how does that rhyme with statements like ”Pagans don't believe in God and the Devil and certainly don't worship Satan'? I mean that's a contradiction of sorts. Also, I'd like to state that scholars have since long disputed whether Aradia is even authentic or just Lelands own imagination. So, how comfortable can one be citing scriptures that floats in such muddy waters and hangs as loose as Aradia does? Especially when this means giving service to a clearly, if only hypothetically, negative and destroying principle. And it's not the mere fact of a negative influence, it's the fact that it's derived from the very religion that Pagans say we don't believe in!

All biblical texts are translated from Swedish to English and without any real sleep last night, so bear with me...

    Super five

Sunday, June 24, 2007, 06:08 PM CET [General]

Last night I watched the new Superman movie and I must say it's a very good movie. A bit thin in action between Superman and Lex Luthor, Kevin spacey did Lex with brilliance. While not gettting a full five he definately has earned his four. Whithout revealing anything about the movie I must point out that the material for the extra island has got to come from somewhere, so I'm not sure the flooding would be as extensive. Also there are a few issues, staying more true to earlier Superman movies than the creators' of the comics.There is a nice twist though about someones son. But instead of me ruining the movie, I recommend you to see it for yourselves. In conclusion I can't give the movie a full five, must see, but a well earned four here also. A very good movie.

Today I saw V for vendetta. This is a movie that, from a few minutes into it, keeps the watcher in a firm grip throughout the whole experience. Shortly, it's about a man, mistreated by the dictator regime, that plans for his revenge and liberation of the people in one big operation. And of course, about the girl caught in between. Not much can be said, other than 'see it'. Definately a must see fiver. It certainely won't leave you untouched.

I hpe you all had a fabulous midsummer. Other than watching movies and blogging, I've started finising 'Wicca' by none other than Scott Cunningham.
